Further to the Press Release by Adur District Council of the 25th August 2009, the FCA have issued the following statement.

Adur District Council has issued a “Notice of Forfeiture” to force the surrender of the lease granted to the FCA on the pretext that the Association has not completed the Dome Community Centre.

The Association has obtained an emphatic opinion from Legal Counsel that: Adur District Council has a responsibility for the delays in completing the Dome Centre; ADC has wrongly refused to release the fire insurance settlement that will allow the Community Association to complete the Community Centre and Sports Facility.

The Association has presented costed plans for the completion of the Community Centre. It has offered space for a MUGA to be built and it has proposed shared access to its own multi use sports rink for the Children and Family Centre. All have been ignored or rejected.

The FCA will defend any action against it, and will issue legal proceedings if ADC do not voluntarily release the fire insurance funds that will allow completion of the Community Centre.
