Welcome to;
 Fishersgate Community Association's Website
registerd charity no. 1007710.

FCA was formed approximately 20 years ago by a few local Fishersgate residents who thought they could help the locally recognised deprived area.

 When funding became available we decided to join with Fishersgate Community Sports Club because the old run down hall was in a state of disrepair and the Sports Club needed facilities that the new Centre could provide.

In 1999 building work commenced on construction of the dome situated on Fishersgate Recreation Ground. In 2001 we were able to start using the 1st wing of the Dome. This was being used for various community activities. eg: Scottish Dance, Line Dancing, Lunch Club, Wrestling, Karate, After School Club, Bingo, Keep Fit, Mothers and Toddlers, Judo, PC Club, Football and Skating on the rink etc.

Due to unforseen circumstances building work ceased to continue and a legal battle began in November 2002. On the 1st April 2009, the Arbitration was concluded, in the FCA's favour.

We were still able to use the Community wing until 2005 when arson attacks closed the building. We were operating in St Peter's Church until it became a Children Centre.

 We have done a lot of work to the Community Wing and the sports area, .and as a result it is open to the community. A loan was offfered to the FCA by Mr. R. Daniel and this enabled the FCA to get as far as we have.

On the 6th July 2011, a "Consent Order" was signed by both the FCA and ADC, to bring to an end the long running legal battle to recoup the Fire Insurance Funds held by ADC. The FCA have submitted the Invoices as required by the 8th Sept 2011, but payment due on these 28 days later is still outstanding.
