FCA was formed approximately 20 years ago by a few local Fishersgate residents who thought they could help the locally recognised deprived area.
When funding became available we decided to join with Fishersgate Community Sports Club because the old run down hall was in a state of disrepair and the Sports Club needed facilities that the new Centre could provide.
In 1999 building work commenced on construction of the dome situated on Fishersgate Recreation Ground. In 2001 we were able to start using the 1st wing of the Dome. This was being used for various community activities. eg: Scottish Dance, Line Dancing, Lunch Club, Wrestling, Karate, After School Club, Bingo, Keep Fit, Mothers and Toddlers, Judo, PC Club, Football and Skating on the rink etc.
Due to unforseen circumstances building work ceased to continue and a legal battle began in November 2002.
We were still able to use the 1st wing until 2005 when there were 3 arson attacks which closed the building. Since the arson attacks we have been operating to a limited extent in St Peter's Church which is situated next door to the dome.
